Surely when someone refers to "A journal published by Oxford..."
or "A monograph published by Harvard...." or "A series published
by Little, Brown..." or "A textbook published by Pergamon...." they are
understood to be referring to publishers unless there is any flag
to indicate otherwise. Surely one rarely overhears a train
conversation that begins, "A program last night on the BBC..."
"What? The Burlington Bible Company? Specify!"
