I'll toss the first stone, your choice of growing media is about the
worst thing you can use in a hydroponic system!
Perlite floats and Vermiculite stays to waterlogged and compacts, plus
you must be sure the Vermiculite is horticulturally stable, most
isn't, especially the kind sold for insulation or swimming pool base.
