Dear stumped pigment enthusiasts,

The blue-green mystery pigment described by Kathy Schmid has TLC
mobility properties exactly what one would expect for chlorophyllide a.
The lack of a phytol tail makes it very hydrophilic, yet it retains
the blue-green color of chl a. It could be checked by doing an absorption
spectrum (if enough is available). Alternatively, since it is a
degradation product, you could allow an acetone extract to sit around
for a day or so and i bet you will see lots of it (the pigment).
