INTERNATIONAL FIELD CONFERENCE for ECOLOGISTS & POST GRADUATES 13-25
August 96
Ecology researchers, teachers of Higher Education and post-graduates
with a serious interest in this subject are invited to take part in a
the first of a series of meetings or field conferences at Centre for
Ecological Education in the Ural mountains, not far from Ekaterinburg
with an international group of scientific colleagues including
scientists from the Urals Insititute of Ecology and Urals University.
The content of the programme will be designed according to the interests
of all the participants. Working languages are English and Russian.

The main purpose of these meetings is to explore the creation of a
concept of human ecology derived from a knowledge of classical ecology.
The question: "How to disseminate scientific ecological knowledge within
the social ecological movement".

The first working meeting is planned for the 1st half of July in the
Urals. The purpose of this meeting is:
1. Analysis of results of ecological research and selection of the most
significant aspects for society and for the green movement.
2. Discussion of probable reasons for the lack of compatibility of the
content of ecology as a science with ecology as a social phenomenon.
3. Looking for a common strategy to approach this problem.

Contributing Scientists from the Urals Institute of Ecology:
Population Ecology of Mammals: Dr Fedor Kryazhimsky, Nikolai Korytin
Fish and Water Pollution: Dr Alexander Lugaskov
