Marta D. de Jesus is correct in her description of the DNA fingerprinting
case. The work was done at NAU by Cowden Professor Paul Keim who was
originally hired by the defense. There is a video about the case which
also includes another crime that was solved using plant evidence, in this
case a root cross section used to identify the time of death of the corpse
it was growing through. I'll find out the video citation from Paul and
post it to the group.
