The pheA-deleted mutant of E coli K12 (strain JW2580) is available for
purchase from the National Bioresource project, Japan
(http://www.shigen.nig.ac.jp/ecoli/strain/top/top.jsp). You can order it
online.
You can introduce lambda-DE3 using the lambda-DE3 lysogenation kit provided
by Novagen.
