From JGretsch from aol.com Tue Sep 18 01:37:18 2007 From: JGretsch from aol.com (JGretsch@aol.com) Date: Tue Sep 18 17:08:19 2007 Subject: [Protista] protozoan behavior Message-ID: Hello Dr. Goodkov Tonight while surfing I happened across your March 1999 message remarking that you studied protozoan behavior as an undergraduate and graduate. For my Master's degree in psychology I conducted experiments to determine whether paramecium aurelia's behavior could be conditioned to time intervals using a classical conditioning paradigm, with a weak electric current as the UCS. 3/5 experiments were significant---after training, the beasties clustered around the area of the + pole at intervals approximating those framing introduction of the UCS. It is, as you say, a fascinating field. Late nights all alone with a test tube...I will follow the references you gave, thank you.
