Reading raw ABI using io_lib

Hi,

As I understand it, the ABI format data files for the 3700 machines
contain both the raw and processed data. I was wondering whether it is
possible to read in the raw data, rather than the preprocessed, using
io_lib. Help would be much appreciated.
