It seems that 'open_db' is missing from this release?! I tried "find $STADENROOT -name open_db" to no avail ... (and yes, $STADENROOT is set correctly). I was going through $STADENROOT/course/ unix_docs/course_unix.pdf, and I got as far as page 30 (36), when gap4 failed with the error: - Report from 'Gap4 shotgun assembly' - ERR: Failed to open database testdb.0. ERR: "invalid command name "open_db"" ERR: Aborting. invalid command name "open_db" *** Processing finished *** Will someone not float forth with a solution? Or should I go back from whence I came? *1 GAH! Reading that document these last few days is making me talk funny! Googling around makes it look like 'open_db' should be an executable binary distributed with the Staden package and located under $STADENROOT/linux-bin/ ... However, in my case its missing... is this an anomaly, or an issue with this release? Thanks anyone for any suggestions, Dan. ---- *1, The humid computer lab.
