I thought I'd share with the other people in this newsgroup
the following email I received after sending in the post
about sexual harassment. Go figure.

DIR SIR,

what is sexual harassment. i dont understand. do women utilize their sexual
characteristics in performing their jobs or do they utilize their brain and
hands which are similar to man's. as far as i know men dont use their genitals
for performing e.g. scientific work. so how could this issue s.h. emerge?
human stupidity or?

Anyway, I wanted to make my response public. First of all, if you
want a definition for sexual harassment, look it up in the dictionary.
Better yet, open your eyes to current issues in state, local and
national news. You'll see what I'm talking about if you would kindly
get your head out of the sand.

I don't apologize for being intolerant, but I do wish that I had
the ability to empathize with people like you because then maybe we
could educate one another. But instead I get too exasperated
to even put forth the energy to discuss these issues. I just
want to succeed in my profession, and hopefully meet people like
you infrequently.

(p.s., I'm not a "sir", but the respect was a nice gesture)
