Suzie, First I must start with the disclaimer that I am a Chemistry
Professor, so you shouldn't consider me an expert at forensic medicine.
However, I do believe that if your goals are high (ie., you want the
possibility of being the boss) you need to go to medical school and then
specialize in forensic medicine. The advice to talk to folks at a medical
examiners' office is good. There might be a lot of interesting
possibilities for work as a tech at the B.S. level. As a major in either
case I would suggest biochemistry/molecular biology. Good luck!
