keep it small (the one-on-one interaction means a lot!!!), track the girls
and mentors (especially if your getting funding) to see which areas of
science they go into, and expose them to as many aspects of science as you
can (extension, academic, industral, lab, field, ect.) I would
also suggest working with alread stuctured organizations like the Girl Scouts
and MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences)
These organizations have science education programs in place and working. And
their names carry weight in some funding circles. Good luck!! If it is not
too much trouble I would love to hear how things turned out.
