Another thing that gets really old is having to explain to the extended
family "when are you going to stop being a student?" That you have
already stopped being a student . . . "But when are you going to get a
REAL JOB?"
My fiance is a first-year postdoc in computer science, and he makes
$40,000 per year. He has said a few times that he's sure I'll be making
more money than he is soon, but I think he's just trying to cheer me up.
