Position Description: We are seeking a statistician for the
characterization and evaluation of sophisticated instrument systems in
the medical diagnostics industry.
Responsibilities:
· The statistical analysis and interpretation of complex data sets.
Specifically, the characaterization and evaluation of sophisticated
instrument systems in the medical diagnostics industry.
· Work cooperatively with engineers and scientists to develop and
execute sophisticated designed experiments.
· Creating analysis templates for use by other department members.
· Creation and maintenance of a SAS Macro library to be used for
common functions (data input, outlier analysis, graphing, etc.)
· Data organization and analysis,
· Design experiments that quantify sources of variability and lead to
improvements in system performance.
· Creating accurate reports and presenting results that can be
understood by non-Statistical staff (management, scientists,
engineers).
· The development and implementation of PC Based software (e.g.,
Visual Basic) for data processing and statistical analysis.
Qualifications
· Degreed candidate; preferably [but not limited to], candidates
with 2+ yrs of industrial [Medical Device/Diagnostics or Pharm or
Biotech or High-Tech].
· Read/convert data from various sources (text files, Oracle
databases, ODBC).
· Ideally, familiar with the characterization and evaluation of
sophisticated instrument systems in the diagnostics industry.
· Familiar with statistical analysis and interpretation of complex
data sets.
· Solid working knowledge and experience in the application of
statistical techniques (t-tests, ANOVA, Design of Experiments,
Boot-strapping, etc.).
· Data organization, analysis, and presentation.
· Articulate results, conclusions and recommendations clearly and
concisely in reports and orally in team meetings.
· Familiar with the development and implementation of PC based
software tools (e.g., Visual Basic) for data processing and
statistical analysis.
· Possess a solid working knowledge of the following types of
software: statistical analysis (SAS, Splus, Statistica), database
(Access, Oracle), spreadsheet (Excel), word processor (Word).
Knowledge of SAS macros, the DATA step and GRAPH extremely important.
