Getting better xtals

. set up matrices to optimize each crystallization parameter separately,
 including but not limited to pH and [salt]. i have even had situations
where [buffer] made a difference. don't forget [protein].

. try different salts.

. try "additives", such as N-octyl glucoside or MPD in small amounts.

. try a larger drop size to slow crystal growth.

. try using your 'stars' for seeding.

. take a trip in the space shuttle.

. make sure your protein is really pure, and centrifuge it just before
setting up crystals to remove any precipitate which could increase
