your ideas on *the* Yeast database ...

Dear Francis:

... one thing that comes
to mind immediately is to put the Riles and Olson restriction mapping data
in, and have a mechanism for the community to use the data to map their
genes.  That is, when one hybridizes their newly-cloned gene to Linda [Riles]'s
filters (available through ATCC), they should be able to figure out the map
location easily from the database.  Linda Riles has the info available, so
it wouldn't be difficult to include it in the database.
