postdoctoral position

[Joe Nickels]

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for anyone intereseted
in gaining experience in yeast genetics and biochemistry.  The position
is in the Department of Biochemistry, at Allegheny University of the
Health Sciences-MCP/Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  
	Our focus is to use the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a tool to
elucidate novel mammalian components involved in cholesterol
metabolism.  Projects will utilize the yeast two-hybrid system, as well
as several functional expression screens of mammalian components in
yeast.  In addition, we are in the beginning stages of screening for
novel yeast sterol mutants. 
	Our long term objective is to clone and characterize these novel
mamalian factors, eventually studying their function in mammalian-based
systems.

	This position is funded by an NIH training grant, so anyone applying
needs to be a permanent resident or US citizen.
