Rehydration will not help--the problem is that lipophilic dye tracing
in fixed embryos depends on the fact that aldehyde fixation (like PFA)
crosslinks proteins but leaves plasma membranes (like axonal
membranes) intact. If you extract lipids, they are gone and not
retrievable.
